Aloha, Wayne!

The spectacularly talented Wayne Brady is coming to Hawaii, performing Aug. 27 at the Blaisdell.

I’m pretty sure, now, what Jen will want for her birthday.

Wayne’s wife, the former Mandie Taketa, is from the islands — a Castle High graduate. They met here, got married in 1999 (photo snagged here), and had a daughter, Maile Masako Brady, in 2003.

Interestingly, though the pair are pegged as a “hot interracial couple,” and even though Mandie is no stranger to the limelight (she’s an actress and dancer), a recent television commercial featuring Wayne as himself still insisted on casting a random black woman to play his wife. Boo!
