For fans of longtime local escribitionist, photographer, and worshipper Donna, Christmas came a little early this year, with her tentative first step into the vlogosphere. She’s posted other videos online, to be sure, but with “2 Days Before Christmas,” she breathes deep, smiles, and puts herself front and center. Her face, her voice, her trip to Pearlridge for a last bit of Christmas shopping.

She confesses that she was nervous, and sure, we all are at first. But it’s the personal touch, the stories that matter most. And I, for one, can’t wait to see more. I’m always thrilled when another kama’aina starts vlogging. Welcome to the ‘ohana, Donna!

Of course, she inspired me to post my own Christmas video over at “HawaiiVOG,” my little Hawaii video blog. I hope the simple scenes of sun and surf on the North Shore this holiday weekend warms the hearts of vloggers and viewers everywhere.
