Upperclassmen are seniors. Underclassmen are everyone else. Many, many juniors have won the award, including Archie Griffin who won the award twice. Tebow is the first in the lower <i>division</i> to win it, which is quite an amazing thing! I wish people (not you — it’s not your fault) would stop saying Tebow is the first underclassman to win it.
