Saturday is Museum Day

There’s only one thing better than getting into several island museums for the price of one: when the price of admission is free.  This Saturday, Sept. 27 brings “Museum Day,” sponsored by Smithsonian magazine. That means free admission at ten participating museums in Hawaii (and dozens of museums across the country).

On Oahu, you can swing through Bishop Museum, Hawaii Maritime Center, Hawaii State Art Museum, Manoa Heritage Center, Mission Houses Museum, Pacific Aviation Museum, Queen Emma Summer Palace, Tropic Lightning Museum at Schofield Barracks, and the University of Hawaii Art Gallery. On the Big Island, there’s the excellent Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo.
