‘Man v. Food’ in Honolulu

Man v. FoodTonight on the Travel Channel, “Man v. Food” turns the spotlight on Honolulu. The program, which crosses the country in search of local traditions and regional specialties, challenges host Adam Richman to partake in each destination’s indulgences. While on Oahu, he’s introduced to the loco moco at Hukilau Cafe in Laie, kalua pig and pipikaula at Helena’s Hawaiian Food in Kalihi, and the (not quite so local) “Mac Daddy Pancake Challenge” at MAC 24-7 in Waikiki.

There’s a video preview of the pancake challenge on YouTube (“blueberry pancakes the size of a manhole cover!”), and a few photos from the local shoot at the Travel Channel website.

The episode airs tonight at 7 p.m. in Honolulu, or at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.

Thanks to the Travel Channel’s online community team for the heads up. They’ve also set up a Facebook fan page and a Twitter account for fans of the show.

I’ve become a recent viewer of the show and I always feel sick watching him eat all that food!

I really like that show. Especially when his show follows up on locations covered in No Reservations. The guy seems to have a lot of fun too.

I was there eating while they filmed it! We were sitting on the other side of the restaurant and kept hearing clapping every couple of minutes… finally we asked someone and they told us that Man vs. Food was there doing the pancakes :)
