“Dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster is out with its list of the 2004 ‘Words of the Year.’ Topping the list by a wide margin is the word “blog,” which is generally used to describe an online personal journal. The word has shown up consistently since July on the daily top 50 list of words looked up on Merriam-Webster’s sites.” —CBS News

Oh well. At least there might be a chance “escribitionist” will make it in someday.

Personally, I love that defenestration made the top ten.
