Honolulu Twestival on Thursday

Logo by Valentino ValdezThe second annual Honolulu Twestival is almost here! This global fundraiser is taking place on Thursday, March 25 in hundreds of cities, but the last stop will be right here in the Aloha State. By the time our pau hana party at Oceans 808 begins at 5 p.m., over $100,000 will already have been raised for Concern Worldwide, this year’s charity. But our goal is for Hawaii to contribute at least $2,000 to the cause.

Like last year, the Honolulu Twestival will feature a great lineup of live music. A mellower, more acoustic vibe will be provided by Candy Diaz (of The Girlaz, soon to release a solo album), Sabrina Velazquez, Yoza, Lehua Kalima, and This Is It (with Joni Llamedo and Bran Apeles). Of course, the music program was made possible largely through the hard work of co-organizer and new media guru Vernon Brown.

There’ll also be a great spread of pupus, and two drinks included with admission (and selected drinks $3 thereafter). And if that wasn’t enough, a number of fantastic prizes will be given away. Highlights include interisland flights on Hawaiian Airlines, room nights at the Lodge at Koele or any Aqua Hotels property in Waikiki, gift certificates from Roy’s Restaurant, Kai Market at the Sheraton Waikiki, Burgers on the Edge, Good to Grill, and Therapy Sports Grilleven great hand-made mochi, a round of mini golf, and much more.

There’s no purchase necessary to win, everyone gets a prize ticket upon entry. But you can increase your chances by buying additional tickets for $5 each, with every penny going to Concern Worldwide. The giveaways should seal the deal, when the music, food, and drinks alone are already worth the price of admission!

Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door, and 100 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales go to charity (and the Honolulu Twestival city fundraising total).

Ticket sales are the primary fundraising vehicle for this event, and are right now our biggest challenge. With two days to go, we’ve not even raised half of our goal. We’d love it if you could join us, and perhaps more importantly, help spread the word about this great event to your friends and professional networks.

We’ve got great music, good food, drinks, and awesome prizes. Thanks to sponsors like Hawaii-Aloha.com, Prudential Locations LLC, Tyrie Jenkins, M.D. Eye Care, and Design Nabi, the event is already paid for. All we need is you.

P.S. If you can’t make it, you can still support the cause! Use the ‘Donate’ widget on the Honolulu Twestival page.
