“Hawaii Five-0” Theme Song Contest

In anticipation of the Sept. 20 series premiere of CBS’ reboot of “Hawaii Five-0,” the network has announced a video upload contest on its site. Fans are encouraged to upload their “best interpretation” of the show’s iconic theme song (or, at least, up to 30 seconds of it), and the winner will win a surfboard signed by the cast.

“You can hum, you can whistle, you can yodel, you can do whatever you want, but give it your best shot,” notes Daniel Dae Kim in the above video clip. “I’ll be listening.”

Speaking of Kim, be sure to check out the latest behind-the-scenes video, in which he talks about filming in Hawaii and how good it feels to smile on camera. I’m glad he’s so in love with the islands, and that he’s been sharing tidbits from his life on Twitter.

And local fans, take note: The premiere episode of “Hawaii Five-0” will be screened a week early for “Sunset on the Beach” in Waikiki… a fun privilege we enjoyed while “LOST” was being filmed here. Check it out on Monday, Sept. 13.

my wife met Daniel a couple weeks ago on the set. She said he is a great guy, very nice to everyone.

Wow, I’m nothing resembling a singer of any kind, but I think I’ll throw my two cents and see how it shakes out. I loved the original show.
