More Photo Fun

Maybe my my modest contribution to the May Day Project was just an appetizer.

Someone in the Olympus C2100UZ user group I just joined posted a link to the America 24/7 project. Spearheaded by A Day in the Life of America editors Rick Smolan and David Elliot Cohen, it’s an all-digital, week-long nationwide photo call open to amateurs and students.

While a whopping 10,000 images will be selected for the book, there’s no question the vast majority of them will come from the 1,000 top professional photographers already participating. Still, there will be state-specific editions and an online gallery, increasing the opportunities for exposure.

Like the May Day Project, for me, there’s really nothing to “win.” But it sounds like fun. I’ll be keeping my digicam extra close this week.
