Andy Bumatai Taking a Talk Show Break

Another day, another “Twitter exclusive.” Local comedian and talk show host Andy Bumatai has announced that his show, “NightTime with Andy Bumatai,” will be put on hiatus until next year, and will be filmed in yet another new location and have a different format.

“I’ve decided to put my show, NightTime, on hold until January,” Bumatai announced on Twitter. “‘Access Hollywood’ will take my slot until I come back.” Rather than the wide-open studio setup reminiscent of “The Tonight Show,” he also said that he will “change the format to more of a Larry King Live type thing.”

Bumatai said that during the hiatus, the show will move from the Outrigger Waikiki hotel to ING Direct‘s new bank-slash-coffeeshop building in Waikiki (at the site of the former Local Motion store).  It’ll be the fourth location for “NightTime,” which first taped at the Honolulu Design Center, then did a few shows at the Hilton Hawaiian Village before settling at the Outrigger.
