You know, I wish I had the money to throw away on a Premium Subscription to Salon.Com… but apart from most of the “Sex” department, I haven’t found what they keep outside the pay barrier too lacking. For example, the “preview” of a recent piece by Jennifer Foote Sweeney — Throw the SUVs overboard! — pretty much says it all… or as much as I need to hear. Having heard Bush’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” speech from Atlanta, I felt the same way… if politicians are going to exploit the aftermath of Sept. 11, the least they could do is use it to give the nation some much-needed bitter medicine.
