Aloha, Roz!

Roz Savage has left Honolulu, and has begun her historic solo row toward the South Pacific.

As I reported earlier, many members of the local “Geek Corps” stepped up to support her mission, including rush development of the awesome “Roz Tracker.” For her launch at the Waikiki Yacht Club on Sunday, fellow geeks  Ian Kitajima, Burt Lum and I were on hand to document the event (along with dozens of journalists).

Ian and I streamed live video to hundreds of people watching via Roz’s official website (Ian via Ustream and I via Qik on my iPhone). Burt posted several photos and a video clip. You can watch my HD video above, or download the original file at Blip.TV.

Good luck, Roz! And special thanks to Nicole Bilodeau for allowing us to play a small part in this epic journey.
