Hawaii Marine Expelled for Puppy Video

David Motari, the Hawaii marine who was engulfed in controversy over a video clip posted to YouTube in March, has been expelled from the service. The video showed Motari throwing a puppy off a cliff while on patrol in Iraq.

According to an official statement placed front and center yesterday on the website for Marine Corps Base Hawaii, “Lance Corporal David Motari received Non-Judicial Punishment… and is being processed for separation from the Marine Corps for his role in the episode.” The other marine in the video, Sergeant Crismarvin Banez Encarnacion, was also punished, but apparently will not be expelled.

The details of “Non-Judicial Punishment” are protected by privacy rules.

“The Marine Corps conducted a thorough investigation as soon as it learned of the event and acted as swiftly as possible,” the statement reads. “The actions seen in the Internet video are contrary to the high standards we expect of every Marine and will not be tolerated.”

Good. Now that the one who thinks cruelty is funny is no longer a Marine, he’s subject to all kinds of cruelty prosecution available to “regular” folks. Throw the book at him!

I hope someone finds this guy and throws him off a cliff…or into a volcano.

I guess the puppy died…??? I’m heartsick and enraged that so called Americans like Motari and his sidekicks represent the US. Isn’t it THREE Marines who should be hurled off a cliff or two?

Macabre humor aside, it’s deeply anguishing to see a helpless animal treated so. Whether it’s a fake video or not, the ones doing it are sick and perpetuating ill will to all Americans.

  5. Greg says:

He should have named the video… ” Watch me get fired, ruin a bunch of future career opportunities and kill this dog in 30 seconds flat.”

    Say cheeeeese.

Before they kicked him out of the Marines,I think they should have tossed his idiotic ass off of a cliff and see how he likes it.I for one would love to be the one to do it.I’m glad that he didn’t just get a slap on the wrist. Now he has to carry that on his record for the rest of his life.I hope he doesn’t have children, maybe they should castrate him now before he can have any kids. Now that’s justice.

  7. You think they would have cared if it weren’t filmed? I think not…
